Exotic Plants

We also have a wide range of rare and unusual exotic ornamental and edible plants, veggie seedlings and fruit trees. We take great care in ensuring that we don’t sell any exotic plants with weed potential.

Check back regularly to see our ever expanding list of stocked plants. If you are after something specific that doesn’t appear here, give me a bell and let me know as the website list may not have caught up yet with what’s available. If I don’t have what you’re after I can chase down most things, so I’m always happy to order it in!

    Black Mulberry Tree

Delicious variety of Mulberry. Kids (and adults alike) will love picking fresh fruit to eat straight off the tree. Very juicy and large black fruit. Also a great food source for silkworms. Fast growing tree when young. Can be left to grow large (8-12m h x 20m w), however is very easy to prune back to keep a smaller bush, and it responds very well to pruning. Fruiting season is late spring through to summer. Pick when black (not red). Loves full sun.

    Bromeliad - Werauhia Sanguinolenta Rubra

Native to Columbia where it colonises trees high in the canopy. A very large, unique bromeliad that can grow to 2m high when flowering! Leaves up to 70cm long. Grow in dappled shade to keep its beautiful deep purple colour. Very hardy. Can be grown epiphytically (in trees or logs etc) or in well drained soil.

    Desert Rose

A hardy, beautiful succulent. One of my personal favourites. They are a fairly small, slow growing plant that grows up to 2m high. They have spectacular large flowers that will bloom throughout Spring and Summer. They enjoy full sun and well drained soil. Another big attraction of this plant is its bulbous, boab like trunk. Also makes a very nice Bonsai.
